Russ M asked:

I always wondered, why you can legally pick up a hooker in los vegas, but eveywhere else, its illegal. My friend wants to go down to the bunny ranch in Nevada, and play with the bunnies.

Imagine Nevada having the audacity to have different laws from the rest of the country. Perhaps we should order an invasion and set them on the right path.

I watched a Vegas show last night and the Sheriff said it was actually “Illegal”.

Now, I think it’s just that they don’t enforce it.

I’m not kidding it really is illegal.

The state legislators of that great state from which Harry Reid is from voted long ago to allow legal brothels. I personally have seen some autographed harry Reid photos in the bedrooms of some fat hookers, sorry, just one of my vices.

Nevada has more lax laws on some things. They have more of an attitude that a victimless crime is a contradiction in terms.

To correct an answer above. Prostitution is legal in Nevada, but illegal in the county Las Vegas is in.

pdooma on 26 September, 2008 at 7:32 am #

Technically, it’s illegal. Technically.

grips on 29 September, 2008 at 2:09 am #

The law says it’s legal.

Andrew on 30 September, 2008 at 1:39 pm #

Prostitution is legal in Nevada because that is the way the people there want it. It is not legal in Clark County, which is where Las Vegas is. That is why people have to travel to places like the Bunny Ranch.

tex on 1 October, 2008 at 8:07 pm #

its NOT LEGAL in clark county {{las vegas}} nevada…there are a couple counties in nevada that it is legal, but not in las vegas.

Xtrax on 1 October, 2008 at 11:10 pm #

Prime example of how money works and how money can bend the law.

STILLbetterthanYOU on 4 October, 2008 at 7:41 pm #

i better go & get myself a bunny then

dudley997997 on 5 October, 2008 at 7:45 pm #

You’re not entirely correct. Maryland also has legalized prostitution.

Perdendosi on 6 October, 2008 at 10:38 am #

Prostitution is not illegal in the state of Nevada in any counties with less than 400,000 population. It IS illegal in Vegas in the city limits (I think to keep organized crime out of Vegas as best it can).

stultificare on 7 October, 2008 at 8:13 pm #

Prostitution isn’t legal in Las Vegas. Whether it’s legal or not is decided by each county.

janigurl on 9 October, 2008 at 10:05 pm #

Nevada has state laws that are different than other states. Street walking is illegal. Prostitution has to happen out of an a licensed establishment.

Jesse on 10 October, 2008 at 12:48 pm #

States and counties get to make up there own laws. Some places are dry counties, which means they will not sell alcohol and people drive somewhere else to get the alcohol and bring it home. Some places will not sell cold beer while others will. It is just how the state and counties in the area voted. It is not money buys off the law in the area it is what is voted on and passed in the area.

dragonfire on 12 October, 2008 at 7:51 am #

it’s not legal in Vegas, as Vegas is in Clark County, and prostitution is illegal in Clark County, those ranches are in Parumph ( exit 55 ), which is outside of Clark County and Vegas, there it is legal

ducky on 14 October, 2008 at 5:35 pm #

It’s Legal in parts of Nevada.

funny thing is, it’s Not really legal in Las Vegas

Hillary on 17 October, 2008 at 11:36 am #

It’s actually illegal, it’s just not enforced as much, and there are a lot of loopholes.
