We’ve already got two days and one night on the calendar for Grand Canyon.
ARNULFO
well you see thats the thing its a dessert state not a lot to do there
TONAPAH NEVADA. IT’S IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE NORTH OF LAS VEGAS AND SO QUIET YOU’LL PROBABLY GO TO SLEEP JUST DRIVING THROUGH TOWN.
sodona is a very relaxing and beautiful place to visit. Its about a 4 hour drive from vegas but it is well worth the drive. It would be very worthe the while if you had about 2 days to spend there. If you go be sure to visit slide rock the children will love this. Also be sure to take the jeep tour in the mountains. Sodona is a very known beautiful awsome tourist place good luck
we drove from pheonix to sodona then to the grand canyon then trough hover dam then to vegas the drive was great
In Northern Nevada - Minden/Gardenerville area. There’s a great little resort area called David Walley’s Hotsprings. It’s a beautiful area - totally different from Vegas!
Or the Lake Tahoe area. OH the TREES! are GREAT!!
Mt. Charleston is a great way to kill a day
Red Rock Canyon has some great hikes
Don’t know when you are going … but if you don’t mind a non-lake destination, Zion National Park in Utah isn’t that far away and it’s one of the great places on Earth. You won’t regret the visit; it’s worth an overnight stay minimum.
Zion Canyon is formed by a river, and the main part of the park is by the river … with cliffs on both sides. It’s spectacular.
The lake formed by the Hoover Dam is awfully nice too. The dam is worth a trip if you want to make a quick afternoon jaunt out of Las Vegas.
I have to agree w/hardwood. If you already have a grand canyon trip planned swing down and spend a day or two in Sedona. It’s so beautiful and relaxing little place. Lots to explore there. I have been twice for 2-3 days and always wished I would have stayed more each time. It’s a total change of pace from Vegas.
Also, if your going in the very near future (next 3-4 months) be aware it snows a lot in Grand Canyon and from Vegas to Williams, AZ can be pretty nasty if it snows. Just keep that in mind on your excurision to be prepared! HAVE FUN!
try Lake Las Vegas, not to far from the city and a nice view little shops and hotels…. nice area ! Don’t attempt northern Nevada, it’s awful!!! there’s always Utah with in a few hrs.
Yes indeedy!
I live 50 miles from Vegas! A little town named Pahrump.
VERY slow pace. On the drive from Vegas to Pahrump you could stop at Mt Charleston, great hiking trails, and picnic facilities.
There are lots of little ghost towns within an hours drive frome here. Get out your map and take a look!
