I live in Las Vegas, but am planning on moving to New York in my future. Soon I’ll be going to school for cosmetology. But I want to be sure that doing hair is what I want to do. How much would a hair stylist make a year in big tipping towns? Would this be enough to support myself? If you could give any websites with salary information, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

idk but a single mother (relative) van suppourt her family of 3 and shes doin well so i guess youd be able to suppourt urself if ur n e good wich u probably r ………. this probably doesnt help srry

In NYC you have great potential to make a lot of money as a hair stylist, but it’s extremely competitive. Try to get a job at a more upscale salon, or work your way up. Advertise yourself on craigslist and keep a clientele. If you go to beauty school in NYC the best one is Aveda institute because when you graduate you can get a job at Aveda, which is a great place to start. Just work your way up and don’t give up!
