It goes without saying that you will usually get a discount hotel rate in Las Vegas if you plan and book your vacation well in advance. However, planning a last-minute Vegas trip doesn’t mean that youMUST pay top prices. It is, in fact, very easy to find discount Las Vegas hotel rooms with a little pre-planning.

Another way you can maximize your Vegas vacation dollars is by taking a little time to research getting a cheap airfare to Las Vegas and special Las Vegas flight deals.

If you are prepared to put in a little effort you can find cheap deals. Thankfully the Internet makes that task very easy.

Before you even sit down in front of a computer and make a booking it is important to note the best times to visit Vegas.

November, December and January are known to be the quieter times to visit. Other times of the year when you will get the best prices are weekdays which are usually half weekend prices, two weeks before Christmas, in the middle of summer and August and December.

The easiest way to find out whether Vegas is “sold out” when you want to vacation there contact the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority on 702-892-0711.

Decide how long you want to stay there for. Many hotels offer lower room rates the longer you stay.

Many of the downtown casinos and hotels are cheaper than accommodation on the Strip.

Look out for hotels offering a free night if you stay for three or more nights there.

Check to see if your planned trip coincides with any major conventions or popular events, etc, on at the same time. If a convention is on at the same time it could be impossible to find a room. Some conventions have attendees of more than 50,000.

As much as possible try and plan your Vegas trip well ahead to get the best rates. Most hotels have an incredible 90 percent occupancy rate with 63 percent of visitors booking at least two weeks in advance. As over 35 million people visit Vegas every year, you really have a lot of competition with other travellers if you are inflexible about precisely when your vacation in Vegas will be.

It is advisable to buy a travel guide for Las Vegas before you go so that you are familiar with all there is to see and do in Las Vegas and are aware how far everything is from one another. For example, casinos may look very close to one another in a car but on foot you could spend most of a day travelling between all of them. Also, consider enjoying many activities not actually on the Strip and right in Vegas for something a little out of the ordinary.

Airline prices also fluctuate over a 24 hour period believe it or not so it’s important to check airline prices throughout the day and even after you book to see if you can get cheaper flight to Vegas. Also consider looking at what airline deals there are the day before and after you plan to travel.

I’ve just done an experiment and I just saved an amazing $544.00 planning a discount Las Vegas vacation. It really shows how much money can be saved by spending time doing a few minutes research planning your holiday.

I went looking for the best Las Vegas hotel and air deal that I could find in under 10 minutes on the internet.

Here is a rundown of what I managed to do in under 10 minutes and how I saved $544.00.

I started off at one prominent Las Vegas website and got the following deal: Depart two adults San Antonio 30 September 2006, depart Las Vegas 6 October 2006; accommodation at Harrah’s hotel and flight included $776.50 per person – a total of $1553.00.

I then went to the Harrah’s website and it gave me accommodation for two adults for the same dates as above for a total of $1110.00, and that doesn’t include the flight price. That’s $550 per person just for accommodation at Harrah’s alone.

I then went to another website recommended in The 2006 Guide To Cheap Discount Vegas Vacations and it gave me a total cost for flight and Harrah’s accommodation of $593.50 per person (flight and accommodation included) for a total of $1187.00

I then went to another travel website and it gave me a total cost for flight and accommodation of $503.19 per person for a total cost of $1106.38.

If I had booked my vacation at the first website I went to I would have paid $544.00 more than I needed to pay.

In 10 minutes I managed to save an INCREDIBLE $544.00 ($272 per person) planning a Las Vegas vacation package.

All budget travellers can save that kind of money by using the same travel websites and travel search engines that I used to plan your Las Vegas vacation. With a little research and time any traveller to Las Vegas can save hundreds of dollars on their Las Vegas vacation.

It’s not every day that anyone can earn $544.00 in 10 minutes so what are you waiting for?

People travelling to Las Vegas for the first time, or return visitors, can be a bit overwhelmed with all that Las Vegas and its surrounding areas have to offer. Dustin Garrido asked:

A Las Vegas vacation for many familys is an experience to enjoy for everyone with all of the food, drink, gambling, and kid-friendly games. In fact, one of the biggest reasons that people visit Las Vegas is for the delectible Las Vegas restaurants. You do not have to be wealthy to experience many of the exquisite Las Vegas restaurants - you just have to know where to go!

Las Vegas has so much more than gambling to offer its thousands of visitors. The days when gambling was the only income stream for casinos is gone, the casinos have had to develop a multitude of income avenues to remain successful. The Las Vegas of old is nothing like the Las Vegas of today. Las Vegas has been changing year-to-year to cater to all walks of life and become the ultimate travel destination for everyone! Look at the Las Vegas sky line right now and you will be hard pressed to find any of the old Las Vegas casinos.

Las Vegas is quickly becoming a city that offers five star world-class food to its residents and tourists. Las Vegas has some of the best dining anywhere on the planet. Many of the best dining experiences are located within the Las Vegas strip casinos, but they would not be as successful as they are if there was not a reason to keep the tables full. Obviously, diners don’t tend to dine if the food isn’t any good, and for a first-class Las Vegas restaurant, one bad review will travel around the world faster than ten good reviews. This means that all of the world-class Las Vegas restaurants really must work hard to earn their badges of honor in order to bring in the customers to stay in business.

However, not all of the Las Vegas restaurants will cost you an arm and a leg. I personally tend to look for the dining bargains and that is what this particular article focuses on. There are many great places to eat in Las Vegas that will not have you busting open your wallet. Now my wife is a steak loving woman so I always try to look for good steak bargains around town. She loves the Sahara’s Caravan Cafe. Here you can get a complete prime rib dinner with a baked potato and your choice of soup or salad for only $8.99 (4:30pm to 7pm). They even offer a large T-bone steak dinner for just $13.99. This is truly one of the many unknown Las Vegas restaurant gems that is known for providing good food at a price that easy on your wallet.

This is just one of the many Las Vegas restaurants that a family can get an affordable, and great tasting meal in a Las Vegas strip casino. Not all great bargains involve steaks though, as there are a lot of high quality, inexpensive Las Vegas restaurants to be found. Many Las Vegas casinos offer valuable coupon books, provided that you ask for them at the front desk. Please note that you will want to be cautious of these coupons because many of them have fine print. So make sure to read the coupons fine print before you try to use it! Oftentimes, they will have some type of restriction that could cost you in the long run. However, using coupons effectively can and will save you money that you can then use for whatever you desire! Go ahead and put some of that money you saved on dinner and put it on the tables - you just might get lucky!

Eating cheap in Las Vegas by no means indicates a lack of quality. While it may not be as pricey as some of the five star Las Vegas restaurant offerings, you will find that a lot of the cheaper places to eat will taste just as good as many of the more high-class Las Vegas restaurants, and it’s just nice to get away from buffet food lines once in a while during your Las Vegas stay. You can only endure so many buffets before they all begin looking and tasting alike.

There are a few things that you should know before planning a trip to Las Vegas. These are the things that you should remember before everything else. The last thing you want is to come to Las Vegas only to realize that you forgot something at home. Let’s get started with the first basic rule when coming to Las Vegas, bring some comfortable walking shoes. This should be a MUST for anyone coming to Las Vegas. Chances are that you will end up spending a lot of time walking on the strip (and probably standing in lines as well) and nothing is worse than having blisters on your feet that will impair your ability to have fun in Las Vegas.

The second basic rule is to remember is to pack clothing that will fit the weather during your stay in Las Vegas. The weather here in Las Vegas can be fairly predictable. Between the months of May and August, the weather is usually HOT - especially in June and July where you can expect temperatures above 110 degrees Fahrenheit or 43 degrees Celsius. Between the months of October and April you can expect colder days and even colder nights. Remember to check the weather for Las Vegas prior to your trip.

The third basic rule is to try to avoid the busy holiday seasons when planning your trip to Las Vegas - if you can. Las Vegas is one of the busiest places in the nation around holidays. If you are coming to Las Vegas during a holiday remember that you will typically pay higher prices for your airfare, hotel, and car rental. Don’t forget that there WILL be large crowds. If you must come to Las Vegas during a holiday, make your reservations ahead of time to ensure that you will have the best availability to the all of the accommodations that you will need.

There are other basics you should remember as well. Remember that Las Vegas is in the desert. So remember that you will need to drink plenty of water. Margaritas and Beers cannot provide the necessary water intake that you need. Las Vegas is a very dry climate when compared to where many people live and it is very easy for the dryness here to take advantage of you.

If your purpose in coming to Las Vegas is to golf, then you should come prepared. Las Vegas has some of the nations most beautiful and lavish golf courses. You should bring your best clubs along with you - though you can rent clubs at the golf course if you decide not to bring your clubs. When speaking of things to do in Las Vegas, you should bring some dress clothes with you if you decide to go to one of the incredible Las Vegas shows - which you MUST do. You will not be disappointed with the shows that Las Vegas has to offer you.

Las Vegas is recognized for attracting the big spenders but it should be known that it is very possible to spend economically and have a great vacation for two that would cost $100 per day. However, on the other hand a big spender can spend thousands on ONE meal. When it comes to nice restaurants, make sure you look for the menu outside of the restaurant before you enter so that you can gauge the affordability of the restaurant if you are on a budget.

If you plan on visiting any of the destinations around Las Vegas like Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon, it would be a good idea to either drive your own car (if you’re close enough) or rent a car. It is easy to be fooled by the distances of these destinations that surround Las Vegas. Not too mention that it is easy to loose your sense of time when you are having fun in the casinos.

Las Vegas is also one of the biggest places in the nation to have a wedding. Las Vegas is almost as famous for weddings as it is for gambling. More than 130,000 couples apply for a marriage license each year in Las Vegas. There are no traditions for a Las Vegas wedding. You can go as informal as you wish. You can have Elvis preside over your wedding. You can even do a drive-thru wedding if you’re strapped for time.

The last basic rule is to live the Las Vegas motto while you’re here: “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas.” So don’t be afraid to let go and have a good time. Just don’t do anything to attract the police and you will have an incredible time that you will remember forever.
